Whatever you decide on doing gov’t will support you to give Atsu a befitting burial – Akufo-Addo assures family

The President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured the family of Christian Atsu that government is ready to provide the necessary support to ensure the late player is given a befitting burial.

The President on Monday, February 27, held a meeting with the family of the deceased Black Stars player to discuss matters relating to the funeral of the player.

At the meeting, President Akufo-Addo stressed that government will support the date and any other decision on the funeral that will be decided by the family.

He indicated that the family can count on the government to give Christian Atsu a befitting burial.

“Whatever decision you take, whatever date you choose government will be behind you to ensure a befitting burial,” President Akufo-Addo said.

Christian Atsu’s body arrived in Ghana on February 19 from Turkey and has been in the morgue since.

His family has scheduled to have a one-week observation of his demise on March 4.

The date for the funeral will then be announced.
