Thomas Partey misses Arsenal’s crucial match against Man City
English Premier League leaders Arsenal will have to play this evening against Manchester City without influential Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey.
The Ghanaian is conspicuously missing from the Arsenal starting line up to face Pep Guardiola’s side at the Emirates Stadium.
Partey is said to have suffered tight muscle injury and as a precaution has been excused from playing against Manchester City in order not to aggravate the situation.
Speaking to Amazon Prime before the game Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta revealed that they do not know yet Partey’s problem but he felt a tight muscle.
“We don’t know yet. He felt some discomfort in the muscle so obviously he’s been ruled out.” he told Amazon Prime
The club is expected to conduct further tests on the Ghanaian midfielder in the coming days but will have to sit out the crucial tie against Manchester City.
He has been a regular fixture in Arsenal’s unlikely Premier League charge but has been on the receiving end of niggling injuries.
