President’s Cup: I hope GHALCA learned their lessons and will apply them going forward – Shardow

General manager of Dreams FC, Ameenu Shardow, has expressed his disappointment with the organization of the 2023 edition of the President’s Cup.

He hopes that future events will improve following the disastrous organization on Sunday.

The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has come under fire for merging a league game with an exhibition match at the Accra Sports Stadium to honor Ghana’s president on the eve of the country’s Independence Day anniversary.

Shardow, speaking in an interview on Joy Prime, criticized the planning process and stated that the criticism should serve as a lesson to the organizers.

“I really hope that based on the criticisms that GHALCA, the GFA, and the clubs have received with this organization, going forward, if we know that 6th of March is the day we want to reserve for the President’s Cup, we must set it aside in our planning process,” he said.

The organization of the President’s Cup was a major topic of discussion after the event, with many fans expressing their dissatisfaction with the planning and execution of the game.
