A pregnant woman reportedly died after collapsing while waiting to vote at a polling unit in the Tsafe area of Zamfara state on February 25.
According to reports, Shamsiya had travelled approximately 50 kilometres from Kotorkoshi in Bungudu Local Government to Tsafe town to cast her vote. Unfortunately, the pregnant woman collapsed and was rushed to the nearest hospital to the polling centre.
Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead upon arrival at Tsafe General Hospital. As of now, there has been no official statement from authorities regarding this unfortunate incident.
In other reports, INEC threatened to invalidate election results at some centres in Kogi State where disturbances were recorded.
