Performance wrap of Ghanaian players abroad over the weekend

Ibrahim Sadiq and Zakaria Mugeese were two of Ghana’s best talents abroad over the weekend as their goals propelled their respective teams to wins.

Sadiq registered his first career hat-trick on Sunday as BK Hacken secured an emphatic 6-1 win over Trollhattan in the Swedish Cup. The player continues his stunning form having guided his side to the league title last year.

Mugeese came off the bench to bag a brace to lead Ashdod to a 2-1 win over Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Israeli league.

Named in Ghana’s provisional squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Ernest Nuamah was back on the scoresheet for the first time this year as Nordsjalland earned a 4-2 win over Odense.

Joseph Paintsil was also a goalscorer over the weekend for Genk in a 3-0 win over Oostende. The goal was the winger’s 11 of the season in the Belgian top flight while he has also recorded nine assists.

Abu Francis earned a point for Cercle Brugge in their league game against KAS Eupen in the Belgian league as they played out a 2-2 draw.

Ransford Yeboah Konigsdorffer started the game and scored for Hamburg as they were held to a 1-1 stalemate at Darmstadt.

Gideon Mensah’s performances continue to inspire Auxerre in the French Ligue 1. Over the weekend, the left-back contributed heavily to his side’s 1-0 win over Lorient.
