Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Opoku named in MLS Team of the Week after explosive display for Los Angeles

Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Opoku has earned a place in the Major League Soccer Team of the Week following his outstanding performance for Los Angeles.

The 21-year-old excelled when his outfit defeated Portland Timbers in their 2023 Major League Soccer opener.

Opoku proved his worth in the clash as Los Angeles secure a 3-2 win over their opponent on Saturday at the Banc of California stadium.

He netted the eventual game-winning goal in the 52nd minute to give LAFC after Portland Timbers had comeback twice to level pegging.

The youngster was named on the bench of the team of the week.

Meanwhile, Opoku’s teammate Giorgio Chiellini made the starting lineup.
