Ghana talent Nathan Opoku makes OH Leuven debut

Ghanaian forward Nathan Opoku made his debut for OH Leuven in the Belgium First Division A league, after being loaned out by Leicester City for the remainder of the season.

The 21-year-old arrived in Europe after playing college soccer in the United States with Syracuse University, where he was studying Communication and Rhetorical Studies.

Opoku came off the bench in the 82nd minute of the match against Royal Antwerp on Sunday, replacing Nachon Nsingi. Despite being on the field for only a short time, Opoku made a good impression on his debut.

Jon Dagur Portsteinsson opened the scoring from the spot in the first half for Leuven, but Antwerp responded after the break through Gyrano Kerk.

Before joining Syracuse University, Opoku played the 2021 season with NAIA program Lindsey Wilson College, where he scored an impressive 19 goals in 19 matches.
