Actor cum farmer John Setor Dumelo has made public his intentions to contest the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat for the second time.
Mr. Dumelo contested in 2020 on the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress after defeating then long standing candidate, Delali Kwasi Brempong who had lost the infamous by-election to Lydia.Seyram Alhassan of the NPP.

After polling 39,851 votes, Lydia Alhassan won John Dumelo with a little over 2,000 votes after securing 37,778 of valid votes cast.
In a tweet Sunday, February 26, 2023, the Ghallywood star said “after an extensive consultation with my God, my family and our party faithfuls in Ayawaso West Wuogon! This’s the second coming.”
