2022/23 Ghana Premier League Week 22: Match Report – FC Samartex 1-2 Asante Kotoko

Asante Kotoko beat FC Samartex 2-1 in their match week 22 game played on Saturday afternoon at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.

Both teams started the game very well creating chances to grab the lead in the intense encounter.

Eventually, in the 18th minute, Enoch Morrison scored after a beautiful team play to put the visitors ahead.

Asante Kotoko’s score was quickly doubled by rising prodigy Rocky Dwamena.

The Porcupine Warriors came to the field in the second half with a new strategy after second goal scorer Rocky Dwamena was forced to leave the field due to a dangerous tackle on him.

The home team then got a free kick, which Keyekeh took well but was tipped off by Kotoko goalkeeper Asare.

Ebenezer Acquah scored for Samartex in the 90th minute to make it 2-1.

Asante Kotoko is third on the Ghana Premier League table with 34 points and Samartex is 9th with 30 points.

Kotoko will play Medeama in their next game while Samartex will take on Gold Stars.
